Accounts Assistant
Job Description
Wolviston Management Services is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our established finance team.
Reporting directly to our Director of Finance, Kate Christie, you will play an important role in maintaining an accurate, efficient and well-organised finance function. This is a varied, hands-on position involving contractor payroll, invoicing, credit control, reconciliations, reporting and regular communication with clients and contractors.
The position is available on either a full-time or part-time basis, with genuine flexibility over working hours.
Key responsibilities
and#9670; Processing contractor timesheets and PAYE payrolls in accordance with differing terms and conditions
and#9670; Preparing holiday accrual calculations and payroll reconciliations
and#9670; Responding to contractor pay and holiday queries
and#9670; Generating sales invoices and resolving client invoice queries
and#9670; Undertaking credit control and chasing overdue invoices
and#9670; Updating sales ledgers and allocating incoming payments
and#9670; Completing monthly sales and bank reconciliations
and#9670; Preparing and submitting reports required for HMRC and other regulatory purposes
and#9670; Producing regular client and internal management reports
and#9670; Supporting month-end processes and maintaining accurate financial records
and#9670; Assisting external auditors and responding to information requests
and#9670; Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business
About you
We are looking for a highly organised and dependable finance professional who can manage competing priorities while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
You should have:
and#9670; At least five years' previous experience within finance and payroll
and#9670; Strong working knowledge of payroll, invoicing, reconciliations and credit control
and#9670; Excellent Excel skills, including the ability to prepare pivot tables
and#9670; A professional and confidential approach to handling sensitive information
and#9670; Strong written and verbal communication skills
and#9670; The ability to prioritise, multitask and meet recurring deadlines
and#9670; Experience of Sage 50 Payroll and Sage 200 Accounts would be advantageous
