Extrusion Operative
Job Description
Extrusion Operative - Doncaster - £32,400 when fully trained
Working for a busy and growing plastic extrusion company, you will receive ongoing training in a modern, clean, warm and bright manufacturing facility. This employer encourages continuous improvement and believes that being able to offer a world class service often relies on the skills and positivity of their valued employees.
No extrusion experience? No problem. We are keen to hear from reliable machine operatives who have experience working within manufacturing environments and who are comfortable working continental shifts. Full extrusion training will be provided for the right person.
The shift as an extrusion operative can be busy and varied, involving machine operation, quality checking products, packing and preparing stock for dispatch and reporting any issues to management. You will ensure that the production line is running properly throughout the shift with the ultimate goal of programming and running the machines independently.
Communication is key in this role and you will need to follow verbal instructions, understand the agreed production plan and record all information on the data sheets, keeping the lines cleaned and maintained as instructed.
Full training will be provided, with salary progression linked to achieving competency and running the extrusion line independently.
To apply for the extrusion operative position, you will ideally have previous extrusion experience. However, candidates with strong machine operating experience within engineering or manufacturing environments will also be considered.
You will be able to work to tight deadlines and achieve targets. You will also have basic IT skills and be comfortable inputting accurate data into relevant systems.
This is a dedicated team and they are keen to recruit someone with commitment and a positive 'can do' attitude.
This is a permanent opportunity with a well-established manufacturer offering long-term stability, ongoing investment in training and genuine opportunities to develop your career. Other benefits include:
Salary: Starting on £30,500 during training with your earnings increasing to £32,400 once fully trained, with further progression opportunities available.
Working week: A continental-style shift pattern operating 24/7 across days and nights.
- Rotating 12-hour days and nights (07:00-19:00 / 19:00-07:00)
- Annual shift rota provided in advance
- Regular planned rest days throughout the year
Holidays: 22 shifts per year. Thanks to the shift pattern and built-in rest days, annual leave can stretch much further than on a standard Monday to Friday rota, making it possible to enjoy extended periods off work whilst using relatively few holiday days.
Getting there: Doncaster, DN4. Free parking and on a bus route.
Other benefits: £5 per month laundry allowance, Death In Service & Medicash after completion of probation, Christmas bonus scheme, company events, referral programme.
Environment: Supportive and friendly, engineering and manufacturing.
